A girl's prerogative...

I've realised that I often don't know my own mind, but expect my husband too. I reserve the right to change my mind, but am still always right. Here's a little insight into a girl's prerogative...

My Art!

I went on a really cool course today...embedding ICT in the curriculum. It was all very snazzy stuff. We had a live video link with the national portrait gallery and got to play on some expensive visualisers with projectors and digital cameras. Here is some of the art I made......

Strictly!!

Just experimenting with pics. Clever Ben has just shown me what to do. This is my amazing hair-do for our Strictly Come Dancing semi-final party, back in December. Good times!

PS House points given to any Legally Blonde quotations spotted!

DT

In my wisdom, I decided to spend the final lesson today teaching my class some basic embroidery, in preparation for our DT purse making. Nothing fancy - just stitching letters or designs into hessian.

Some children did very well - and we had lots of football related pieces - but others struggled. My favourite comments were being told by one boy that he didn't like'this knitting!' And another boy asked me for a new needle because his had broken. Having visions of snapped needles I asked him what he had done to it. 'Nothing' he replied, 'it just keeps coming unthreaded!'

Bless!

Why does everything go wrong at once?

Recently everything in our household has been going wrong.....computer hard drive error, cooker blew up, washing machine stopped working, sink leaking. Why does it always happen at once?

Then today to top it all off the car wouldn't start. I had been at work since 7.45am and was looking forward to seeing Ben for a quick change over before he went off to work (quasar!). The lights came on so I knew it wasn't a flat battery (been there, done that) and there was half a tank of petrol so I knew I hadn't run out (also been there and done that!).

At 6pm I called the recovery company and waited for them. To be fair they came within about 40 minutes. The guy was really nice and tried loads of different things, but to no avail. As I stood by the car park I watched my snazzy 40 days of purpose keyring dangling from the inigtion and wondered if the repair man had noticed it. And then the penny dropped................these weren't my normal set off keys. This was the set with the car key that has not yet been computerised and won't start the car!

I thought for a while about the embarrassment of confessing this mistake and realised that I could avoid any humiliation by being towed home (knowing that as soon as he had driven off I could start the car using the correct key). However, as it was now almost 7pm I decided to confess all.

The man reassured me that it was by no means the most stupid mistake he'd seen, but did ask me if he should put 'blonde' under the fault section of the paperwork.

On reflection, part of me was a tiny bit pleased with with this comment as my once dark blonde hair is now maintained by Jamie at Oasis Hair Studio!!!
